Scooter operator critically injured after being hit by car on Congress Ave.

AUSTIN, TX – A scooter rider was severely injured after being struck by a driver on Congress Avenue yesterday afternoon, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.


The accident happened near the intersection of S Congress Avenue and W Riverside Drive at 2:07 p.m.

An adult victim was taken to Dell Seton Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. Medics were attempting CPR on the victim as of 2:26 p.m.

The victim’s identity and current condition were not immediately available.

Authorities asked drivers to avoid the area, as road closures were likely as investigators worked the crash.

Person hospitalized after falling from bike on trail in Avery Ranch area

AUSTIN, TX – A person was injured after falling from a bike on a trail in the Avery Ranch area this evening, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.


The crash occurred at a trail located near the 10800 block of Dodge Cattle Drive at about 6:35 p.m., when a person fell from their bike.

The victim was rescued by first responders, then taken to the hospital with non-critical wounds.

Their identity was not immediately available.

APD identify bicyclist killed at East Koenig and Clayton

AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have released the identify of a man who was struck and killed earlier this month while riding his bicycle near the intersection of East Koenig and Clayton Lanes.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that the incident occurred just before noon on February 5. 56-year-old Mark Davis was hit by an SUV as he rode against traffic on a one-way street in the area, just northwest of where US 290 meets I-35. Emergency responders took Davis to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV that hit Davis stayed on the scene and has cooperated with the ongoing police investigation. It is not clear whether that person will face any charges.

CEDAR PARK, TX – One person was taken to the hospital after a fall on a trail in Cedar Park this morning, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident occurred in the 10900 block of Dodge Cattle Drive, near the Brushy Creek Trail, at 9 a.m., when a patient fell from their bike.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

The cause of the fall was not revealed.

Teen killed in Liberty Hill crash

LIBERTY HILL, TX – According to KVUE, a 14-year-old has died in a crash on State Highway 29 that took place on Saturday at around 8:30 p.m.

The accident occurred when a Toyota Prius struck the boy as he was riding a bike along an unlit portion of the highway. The victim’s bicycle did not have any lights.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.

Cyclist killed overnight in hit-and-run crash

AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, a bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the northbound lanes of the I-35 frontage road near Tech Ridge Boulevard.

The crash took place at around 11 p.m. last night. An unknown driver struck a bicyclist before fleeing the crash scene.

The victim received CPR but was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Police are continuing to search for the culprit.

Bicyclist in critical condition after being hit by car in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TX – A bicyclist was sent to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle yesterday in the Jollyville neighborhood, about 4.5 miles southwest of Round Rock.

According to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident happened in the 7700 block of W Parmer Lane just after 6 p.m. when the driver of a passenger vehicle collided with a bicyclist.

 

EMS administered CPR on the victim, who was then taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as road closures and heavy traffic was expected to last for a while.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Bicyclist hospitalized following North Austin collision

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin are investigating the cause of a collision that sent a bicyclist to the hospital in critical condition Sunday night.

Emergency services responded to reports of an accident around 8:30 p.m. within the northbound lanes of FM 973 close to the intersection with Gregg Lane, according to CBS Austin.

One adult patient was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center in critical condition immediately following the incident. Their condition remains unknown as of Monday night.

Person taken to hospital after falling from bike on Greenbelt Trail

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital after they fell from a bicycle on the Greenbelt Trail in east Austin this morning, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 3000 block of Delwau Lane on the Greenbelt Trail at 7:43 a.m.

The victim, who was not identified in the report, was conscious when emergency officials made contact and extricated them from the scene.

The victim was taken to Dell Seton with injuries to an extremity that were not expected to be life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported in the accident.

UPDATE: Police identify Bicyclist killed in north Austin crash

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin have identified the bicyclist who was killed in a previously reported collision near U.S. 183 on Wednesday, August 26th.

According to Fox 7 Austin, Travis Larson, 32, was killed when he was struck by the driver of a Toyota Corolla near the intersection of U.S. 183 frontage road and Lake Creek Parkway shortly before 10:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Larson attempted to perform CPR immediately following the crash. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and Larson died at the scene.

No charges have bee filed against the driver as of yet. An investigation into the cause of the crash is still underway.
