The suspect of a hit-and-run that injured a motorcyclist last year has been identified, according to a February 3 article by KVUE.

The incident happened on December 21, 2019, on Research Boulevard near Balcones Club Drive. 42-year-old Feliciano Benavides-Guerrero struck Spencer Klatt who was on a motorcycle. A Dashcam video by a witness showed Benavides-Guerrero fleeing the scene as Klatt was rolling several times. Now, Klatt is recovering from foot and back injuries. Due to the video footage, police said they now have enough cause to issue an arrest warrant.

Woman Arrested After DUI Collision

The woman who was involved in a fatal motorcycle crash was arrested, according to a January 31 article by Fox 7 Austin.

Lisa Lene Aiken was arrested after the incident that occurred at the 1600 block of West Howard Lane, before 9:30 PM. She was driving while intoxicated when she collided with the motorcycle of 25-year-old Mitchell Jacob Levy. Despite being arrested for DUI, police said her inebriation was not the cause of the crash. The Austin Police Department is still investigating the crash.

Motorcyclist Dead After Rollover Crash

Injury Hit-And-Run Caught On Camera

A hit-and-run that injured a motorcyclist was recorded in a witness’ dash camera, according to a January 14 article by CBS Austin .

The incident happened on the evening of December 21, off Highway 183 near Oceanaire Boulevard. In the footage, a truck appeared to have moved into the right lane of Highway 183 and crashed into a motorcycle driving in that lane. The injured motorcyclist’s mother, Lisa Klatt, lamented buying her her 19-year-old son the motorcycle. She further reiterated that she warned him not to ride it on highways. Despite the tragedy, she said she was thankful that the incident didn’t turn out worse. Nonetheless, she and the Austin Police are looking for the truck driver responsible. Investigations are ongoing.

One Dead In Cedar Park Motorcycle Crash

A pedestrian died after being hit by a police vehicle, according to a January 6 article by Fox 7 Austin.

Around 6:30 PM, Cedar Park Police responded to a call regarding a crash with injuries at the 6400 block of the 183A toll road. When they arrived at the scene, they found a pickup truck and a motorcycle on the road. Their investigations concluded that the truck crashed into the median first and sent debris flying. A motorcyclist, 45-year-old Dane Benjamin Hone, was struck by the debris. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced dead on Sunday morning. This incident is Cedar Park’s first traffic fatality of the year and is under investigation.
