Man airlifted to hospital after Lake Travis jet ski accident

BRIARCLIFF, TX (TRAVIS COUNTY) – A man was airlifted to the hospital last night after a jet ski accident on Lake Travis, according to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened just after 7:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Sleat Drive in Briarcliff.

The patient was declared a trauma alert and taken to Dell Seton Medical Center by medical helicopter with serious injuries.

According to the Tweet, the patient may have been pulled from the lake by witnesses at the scene.

ATCEMS reminded people visiting the lake this summer of swimming and boating safety tips including the need to wear a life jacket, boat at a responsible speed, and be aware of their surroundings and of others in the water.
