Pedestrian critically injured following accident on Riverside Dr
AUSTIN, TX – A person was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a pedestrian accident on Riverside Drive last night, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.
#ATCEMS & @AustinFireInfo are on scene of an Auto vs Pedestrian Collision at 4500blk E Riverside Dr (22:30). #ATCEMSMedics have reported 1 patient that was struck by a vehicle, and has been declared a Trauma Alert. Patient is being prepped for transport, more info to follow.

The crash happened in the 4500 block of E Riverside Dr, near Wickersham Lane, at around 10:30 p.m. when a person, who was not identified in the tweet, was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was declared a trauma alert and then taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening, severe wounds.
The driver was not reported as injured.
It is unclear at this time if the driver stayed at the scene after the crash.
Authorities warned travelers in the area to expect long traffic delays as a result of the collision.
