APD identify bicyclist killed at East Koenig and Clayton

AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have released the identify of a man who was struck and killed earlier this month while riding his bicycle near the intersection of East Koenig and Clayton Lanes.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that the incident occurred just before noon on February 5. 56-year-old Mark Davis was hit by an SUV as he rode against traffic on a one-way street in the area, just northwest of where US 290 meets I-35. Emergency responders took Davis to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV that hit Davis stayed on the scene and has cooperated with the ongoing police investigation. It is not clear whether that person will face any charges.

Teen killed in Liberty Hill crash

LIBERTY HILL, TX – According to KVUE, a 14-year-old has died in a crash on State Highway 29 that took place on Saturday at around 8:30 p.m.

The accident occurred when a Toyota Prius struck the boy as he was riding a bike along an unlit portion of the highway. The victim’s bicycle did not have any lights.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.

Cyclist killed overnight in hit-and-run crash

AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, a bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the northbound lanes of the I-35 frontage road near Tech Ridge Boulevard.

The crash took place at around 11 p.m. last night. An unknown driver struck a bicyclist before fleeing the crash scene.

The victim received CPR but was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Police are continuing to search for the culprit.

Child seriously injured following bicycle collision

AUSTIN, TX – A minor was taken to the hospital after their bicycle was struck by a motor vehicle.

According to KVUE, the accident occurred on a BMX Track in Walnut Creek Park just after 7:00 p.m. The child was taken to Dell Childrens’ Medical Center with possible severe injuries.

No word on how the collision happened has been released as of yet. However, the situation is ongoing and we will provide updates on the condition of the victim as they are made available.
