East Austin crash closes road near downtown

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities in East Austin reported a crash that closed down a residential road near East 12th Street Tuesday morning.

According to the Austin Traffic tracker, the incident occurred just after 10:00 a.m. on Hargrave Street east of downtown Austin. Austin Police shut down the portion of Hargrave St. between 12th St. and Sol Wilson Avenue while the crash was investigated and cleared.

No details on how many were involved or if any injuries were sustained in the crash have been released as of yet. We will continue to monitor the situation and release that information as it is made public.

Crash slows traffic on Mopac Expressway

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police responded to a crash that slowed traffic on South Mopac late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Austin- Travis County traffic report page, the crash was reported at 2:37 p.m. on Mopac Expressway southbound near the Barton Skyway ramp.

No injuries as a result of the crash have been reported as of yet. However, this situation is ongoing and we will provide any new information as it is made available.

Vehicle careens into the Colorado River following police chase

AUSTIN, TX – An Austin Police chase ended with a vehicle being submerged in the Colorado River Wednesday afternoon.

According to KXAN, Police received the report of a possibly stolen, suspicious vehicle at about 12:23 p.m. When they located the car in question, the driver at temped to evade the police and a chase ensued.

The driver eventually swerved off of the roadway and into the river at the 400 block of South Pleasant Valley Road.

No one was injured as a result of the crash. Information on any charges filed against the driver has yet to be released.

Pedestrian fatally struck on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on I-35 in North Austin early Friday morning, Fox 7 Austin reports.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Parmer Lane.

Austin EMS personnel found the man on the side of the road and attempted to save him, but were unable to. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Graduating senior involved in fatal car accident

WACO, TX – A Chilton ISD graduating senior was involved in a fatal car accident on Wednesday, according to KCENTV.

Emilio Rueda, 18, was a passenger in a 2003 GMC Sierra traveling southbound on Robinson Drive when it ran off the road and struck a light pole at the Primrose Road intersection, just after 7:30 p.m.

Rueda was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was transported to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Fatal multiple-vehicle accident

HAYS COUNTY, TX – According to KXAN, a fatal multiple-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 290 near Henley Loop on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office says a report of a multiple vehicle collision came in at 1:20 p.m.

Highway 290 was temporarily closed at Henley Loop.

The victims have not been identified.

Large truck burst into flames

AUSTIN, TX – KXAN reported a truck that burst into flames the morning of May 11 in southeast Austin.

The Austin Fire department responded to the location of the fire on the 7600 block of Bluff Springs Road with support from TCSO.

A KXAN witness, Brian McKinney, sent in a video of the truck near a gas station where you can see large plumes of smoke as firefighters are extinguishing the fire.

Early morning crash sends 2 people to the hospital

TEMPLE, TX – An accident was reported early Friday morning that involved two individuals, leaving one in critical condition, according to KWTX.

The driver and passenger of the accident were traveling westbound on West Adams Avenue close to Apache Drive around 5:30 a.m.

The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and is in critical condition while the driver only suffered from minor injuries.

Both victims were transported to Scott and White Medical Center.
