Officials respond to a vehicle rescue in Southeast Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Emergency services in southeast Austin have responded to reports of a vehicle rescue along U.S. Highway 290 Monday night.

According to the official Twiter page of Austin-Travis County EMS, the incident occurred within the 4900 block of U.S. 290 at about 9:10 p.m.

Initial reports are of a vehicle hanging off of the edge of an overpass and one individual trapped inside. This situation is still developing, we will provide any pertinent information as it is made available by South Austin officials.

Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area throughout Monday night so the collision may be safely cleared from the roadway.

South Austin pursuit ends in SUV rollover crash

AUSTIN, TX – One person was transported to the hospital Monday morning following a police chase in south Austin that ended in a rollover collision.

According to KXAN, police attempted to pull over a vehicle suspected of speeding along State Highway 71 at about 11:30 a.m.

The driver failed to comply and continued traveling south on I-35. They came to a stop along Slaughter Lane, then sped away again in an attempt to evade police.

The driver lost control of their vehicle and rolled it along the eastbound lanes of Slaughter Ln., east of I-35.

The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the incident.

One dead, one injured in single-vehicle crash on FM 969

AUSTIN, TX – One person is dead and another is injured after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in east Austin.

According to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident happened at 10::48 p.m. in the 7900 block of Farm-to-Market Road 969 and involved a single vehicle.

One person was briefly pinned within the wreckage but was extracted quickly by emergency crews, according to ATCEMS, and declared a trauma alert. Despite resuscitative efforts, the victim died at the scene.

Another person, also declared a trauma alert, was taken to Dell Seton with injuries that were potentially serious, but not expected to be life-threatening.

ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as extended traffic delays were likely due to the cleanup and investigation of the collision.

The identities of the victims were not released in the tweet thread.
