Three people hurt when car collides with tree in Southpark Meadows area

AUSTIN, TX – Three people sustained injuries after a vehicle collided with a tree in south Austin this evening, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the Southpark Meadows area, in the 10700 block of I-35 S, at about 6:45 p.m., when a vehicle collided with a tree.

Initial reports stated that two people were unconscious when responders were called to the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

Another victim suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A third person was taken in for treatment of minor wounds.

The identities of the victims and the cause of the accident have not yet been released.

ATCEMS advised travelers to avoid the area due to traffic delays.

The investigation continues at this time.

Austin woman possibly injured after multiple vehicles collide on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – An Austin resident sustained possible injuries during a multi-vehicle accident on I-35 on Tuesday morning, according to MyAccident.org.

The crash occurred in the Park 35 area on N I-35, near Tech Ridge Boulevard, at 11:12 a.m., when three vehicles collided.

The front of a white 2015 Dodge crashed into the back of a gray 2008 Honda, which then was pushed into the rear of a black 1997 Honda.

The 47-year-old driver of the gray Honda, a woman from Austin, sustained possible injuries as a result of the accident.

The 62-year-old operator of the black Honda, a man from Austin, and the 35-year-old Leander woman driving the Dodge were not reported as injured.

The weather was clear at the time of the accident.

One dead, another in critical condition after early-morning crash on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed and another was seriously injured following an accident on I-35 early this morning, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The collision occurred in the 8900 block of the N I-35 service road at about 12:35 a.m.

One adult died at the scene.

A second adult was taken to Dell Seton for the treatment of severe, life-threatening wounds.

The exact circumstances of the crash and the identities of the victims were not made immediately available.

Pedestrian killed in accident on I-35 in north Austin

AUSTIN, TX – A person is dead after they were struck by a car in north Austin late last night, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened around 10:50 p.m. outside a shopping center near the Tech Ridge area, at 12036 N I-35 frontage road.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene.

The driver was not reported as injured.

ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as road closures were likely.

At least one person injured in T-bone crash in S Congress area

AUSTIN, TX – At least one person was reported injured in a T-bone crash in the south Austin area on Wednesday afternoon, according to an accident report published by MyAccident.org.

The crash happened in the South Congress neighborhood area on E Stassney Ln, near I-35 and the Stassney Heights Shopping Center, just before 12:30 p.m. when the driver of a black 2009 Lexus reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign.

The driver of the Lexus, a 36-year-old man from Austin, collided with the side of a black 2012 Ford driven by a 24-year-old Austin man.

The Ford’s driver reported non-critical injuries as a result of the collision. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts when the crash occurred.

No other injuries were reported in the accident.

Van Ormy Police officer hospitalized after being struck by vehicle on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One police officer was airlifted to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle along I-35 early Friday morning.

According to KSAT, the officer was assisting in traffic control following a tractor-trailer accident on I-35 near Loop 1604 at about 1:30 a.m. Investigators say the officer was exiting his patrol car when another vehicle careened into the driver’s side rear door, striking the officer in the process.

The officer was airlifted to University Hospital to be treated for a potentially life-threatening head injury immediately following the crash.

The driver involved was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
