Fatal truck accident on I-35 near San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, TX – One man was killed when his pickup truck ran into the back of a semi-truck on Interstate 35 near San Marcos Tuesday night.

According to Fox 7 Austin, 70-year-old Breene Galen Greer was attempting to change lanes on I-35 near the River Ridge Parkway exit when he crashed into the back of the trailer. Greer was pronounced dead upon paramedics’ arrival at the scene.

Police say the incident occurred near a portion of I-35 where drivers were forced to the left-most lane due to work on the roadway. No charges have been filed in relation to the crash.

18-year-old dead after two-vehicle accident

TROY, TX – A two-vehicle accident has left an 18-year-old dead on May 31, according to reports.

The accident happened on Sunday just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of S Central Avenue.

Raiden Garcia, 18, was driving a 2013 Dodge vehicle on Loves Blvd. when he crashed with a 2004 Infiniti SUV driven southbound by Joan Rivera, 22.

Garcia was the only person in his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rivera had 4 other passengers in the vehicle; one adult female and three children. The adult female and two of the children were rushed to the hospital to treat non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

7-year-old dies from car accident injuries

SAN MARCOS, TX – A 7-year-old has died from injuries following a car accident that also claimed the lives of a San Antonio family, My San Antonio reports.

The accident happened on Saturday at around 8 p.m. when a Ford Explorer occupied by 10 family members blew a tire and flipped several times near the 200 block of Interstate 35.

Two other people involved in the accident identified as 24-year-old Destiny Bridges and 31-year-old Sean Thompson also died in the incident.

Five adults and five children were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Only the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and the nine other members were all ejected from the vehicle.

Bridges died at the scene and Thompson died Saturday night at the hospital he was transported to.

The child died at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin where he died on Tuesday.

The child has not been identified.

Multiple-vehicle accident involving 18-wheelers

JARRELL, TX – There was a massive accident on the southbound lanes of I-35 involving multiple 18-wheelers, Fox 7 Austin reports.

The accident happened on Saturday at approximately 2 a.m. at Mile Marker 271 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Authorities say that one driver suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.

UPDATE: Man killed in Metric Blvd crash identified

AUSTIN, TX – The person who died in a May 8 crash on Metric Boulevard in Austin has been identified by authorities, according to KXAN.

James Henry Omary, 66, a passenger in a Mitsubishi Galant, died in a head-on crash at 12349 Metric Blvd. The Galant was hit by a 2018 Hino van, which was pushed into the wrong lane by the impact of a 2004 GMC SUV.

There are no details at this time as to why the SUV and the van crashed.

Omary was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Four other passengers in the Galant were injured, but the drivers of the SUV and the van were not. They remained at the scene of the accident.
