Collision shuts down SH-71 in Spicewood

SPICEWOOD, TX – Officials with the Travis County Sheriff’s Department were forced to close off lanes along State Highway 71 following a collision Tuesday evening.

According to the Austin – Travis County traffic report page, the collision occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on SH- 71 near Bob Wire Road.

Details regarding how many vehicles were involved in the collision or if any injuries were sustained as a result have not yet been made public. However, this situation is still developing. We will provide any further information as it is released.

One hospitalized after Spicewood collision

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – Travis County Emergency services have reported injuries as the result of a collision along State Highway 71 Thursday morning, about halfway between Bee Cave and Spicewood.

According to the Austin- Travis County EMS Twitter page, the crash occurred within the 22200 block of SH 71 just before 5:30 a.m.

Paramedics extracted one patient who was trapped in their vehicle. They were immediately transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in critical condition. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Details regarding how the crash transpired and the condition of the victim have not been made public. We will continue to follow this ongoing story and provide further details as they are made available.
