AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Police Department have identified the teen killed in a single-vehicle collision along Interstate 35 north of downtown on Tuesday, July 28th.

According to the Austin American Statesman, Alejandro Huerta Hernandez, 17, was killed after colliding with a concrete barrier within the 10500 block of the I-35 service road northbound shortly before midnight.

Officers responded last Tuesday at 11:50 p.m. to the 10500 block of the highway’s northbound service road, just south of Braker Lane, for a crash involving one vehicle.

Upon their arrival on the scene, officials pulled Hernandez from the vehicle and began to attempt life-saving measures. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and Hernandez died at the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m.
