4 Pedernales firefighters hurt when fire truck rolls over on icy roadway
BEE CAVE, TX (TRAVIS COUNTY) – Four firefighters with the Pedernales Fire Department were injured after a fire truck rolled over on State Highway 71 this morning, according to KXAN.
The accident occurred in Bee Cave, in the 16100 block of SH-71 before 9:45 a.m. as the firefighters were headed to an emergency.
The firetruck overturned, before crashing into a fenced area near the icy roadway.
Four firefighters, all of whom were wearing seatbelts, were taken to the hospital for the treatment of undisclosed injuries. They have since been released.
Authorities advised drivers to stay home, as driving conditions were even more treacherous to those in the general public, who may not be trained in navigating difficult terrain.
The accident remains under investigation.
