Explosion occurs as a result of a San Antonio house fire

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Fire officials in San Antonio put out a blaze in a residential home that resulted in a small explosion early Wednesday morning.

According to KSAT, officials responded to the fire within the 6000 block of Beaver Trail, northwest of downtown, shortly before 4:30 a.m..

The blaze began in an attic on the top floor of the home and spread to an HVAC unit causing a small explosion. No one was injured as a result of the fire. Officials believe the home is still inhabitable.

Arson is not suspected at this time.

Ten people displaced after San Antonio fire

SAN ANTONIO, TX –  Fire officials in San Antonio responded to an apartment fire that caused significant damage southwest of downtown early Tuesday morning.

According to KENS, the fire was reported at about 1:30 a.m. within the 1700 block of Mayfield Boulevard a few blocks from Pearsall Park.

Authorities believe the fire began outside the building. Aside from that, no further information regarding the cause of the blaze has been released. Ten people were left without a home as a result of the fire. Luckily, no injuries have been reported.

Vehicle fire closes lanes on I-35

ROUND ROCK, TX – Authorities in Round Rock were forced to shut down southbound lanes on Interstate 35 following a crash Monday night.

According to KXAN, the fire began on I-35 near Hesters Crossing Road at about 8:40 p.m. No information on if any injuries were sustained in the fire has been made available as of yet.

Officials have closed at least one lane along I-35 at Round Rock and are advising motorists find an alternate route while the fire is investigated and cleared form the Freeway

One dead, one injured in Mustang Ridge house fire

MUSTANG RIDGE, TX (TRAVIS COUNTY) – One person is dead and another is injured following a house fire this morning in Mustang Ridge, according to KXAN.

Authorities responded to the blaze on Ranchero Drive around 9 a.m. Once they arrived, they performed a search of the house while it was still on fire.

An unidentified victim was killed in the blaze, and another received minor burn injuries.

The house was mostly destroyed in the incident.

There is no information at this time as to how the blaze was started.

Vehicle fire in erupts in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – Fire officials in New Braunfels responded to a car erupting in flames while parked at a shopping center on Monday.

The fire occurred in the parking lot outside of Spec’s Wines, Spirits, and Finer Foods just off of Interstate 35, according to News 4 San Antonio.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the blaze and New Braunfels Fire Department was able to extinguish it promptly. Details regarding why the vehicle burst into flames have not yet been made available.

Female employee dead after business catches on fire

MIDLAND, TX – A female employee has died following a fire at a Wag N’ Tail Pet Resort on Saturday afternoon, according to reports.

The Midland Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 5:53 p.m.

After extinguishing the fire, crews found a deceased female. The woman was identified, but her name will not be released at this time.

The owners of the pets that were left in the resort were notified. Four of the animals were transported to a local pet hospital to be treated.

The cause of the fire is unknown and there is an on-going investigation.

Fire at duplex in Central Austin

AUSTIN, TX – One individual has been injured following a fire in a duplex located in Central Austin on June 1st, according to Fox Austin.

The fire ignited at a duplex living building on Bailey Lane near West 39 1/2 Street at approximately midnight.

Three people were in the duplex during the fire. All of them were able to evacuate the home on time, except for one individual that was hospitalized with potentially serious injuries.

Woman allegedly sets boyfriend’s car on fire at Southside motel

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman and her boyfriend in a south San Antonio neighborhood were sent to the hospital after she allegedly set his car on fire overnight, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

The incident occurred around midnight at 2700 Roosevelt Avenue, where the El Tejas Motel is located.

According to authorities, the couple was having an argument that led her to use an accelerant, lighting his car on fire. The boyfriend was burned in the process.

Both people were brought to the hospital following the incident.

At this time, an investigation is still pending, and there are no charges that have been filed.

Four Found Dead In Fiery Crash

Four people were killed in a crash on Thursday evening, according to a March 20 article by Austin Daily Herald.

The incident happened in Second Drive Southwest near 11th Avenue Southwest, around 6:02 PM. Police found a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx in flames with substantial damage from the wreck prior to the fire. Unfortunately, officers found no signs of life inside the vehicle.
