Pedestrian suffers severe injuries after being hit by car on Hwy 183
AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in south Austin last night, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident occurred at 9414 S Highway 183 just after 7 p.m. when an adult victim was hit by a car.
The victim, who had been declared a trauma alert, was airlifted to St. David’s South for the treatment of serious, possibly life-threatening injuries.
The driver was not reported as injured.
Authorities warned drivers to avoid the area, as heavy traffic delays and road closures were likely.
The identity of the victim has not yet been revealed.
