Austin Fire Department responds to Southeast Austin car fire

AUSTIN, TX- The Austin Fire Department reported and responded to a mysterious car fire early Thursday, according to CBS Austin.

At approximately 3:50am, the AFD extinguished an auto fire near the 1600 block of Clubview Avenue. Officials found a sedan completely engulfed in flames at the source of the incident. However, no other vehicles were harmed and no injuries were reported at the time of the fire. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Fire Department responded to an accident with injuries on the U.S. 290 service road this evening.

According to the department’s incident feed, the crash happened at 6:28 p.m. near 10037 E U.S. 290 service road eastbound, west of Highway 130.

Person hospitalized after being trapped in crash on Bastrop Hwy

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital after being trapped in the wreckage of a crash on Bastrop Highway early this morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.


The crash happened in the 200 block of Bastrop Highway southbound at 1:37 a.m., when one vehicle crashed, trapping an adult victim inside.

The victim was rescued by emergency crews and declared a trauma alert. They were then taken to St. David’s South with injuries that were possibly serious but were not expected to be life-threatening.

No other people were hurt in the crash.

Person hospitalized following early-morning 18-vehicle pileup on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – One person was hospitalized following an 18-vehicle pileup on I-35 early this morning, according to KXAN.

The crash happened in the 4500 block of N I-35 northbound at about 3 a.m., when four vehicles collided. One of those overturned during the crash. An additional 14 vehicles then collided with debris from the accident.

One person was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries. A total of 32 people were involved in the accident.

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on State Highway 71 yesterday morning, according to the Austin-Travis County EMS.


The collision occurred in the 12400 block of W SH-71 at 10:19 a.m., when three vehicles collided.

One person was pinned within the wreckage and declared a trauma alert. After being extricated from their vehicle, they were taken to South Austin Medical Center with possibly serious injuries.

Four people refused transport at the scene.

Man injured in inattentive driving crash on Mount Bonnell Rd

Two men injured in rear-end collision on Presidential Blvd

AUSTIN, TX – Two people were reported injured following a collision on Presidential Boulevard, located near the Austin-Bergstrom Airport, earlier this week, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

The accident happened near Service Drive and the Spirit of Texas Drive just after 12 p.m. Tuesday, when the front of a black 2016 Nissan collided with the rear of a silver 2018 Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old man, sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The other driver suffered a possible injury as well.

Both drivers were determined to be at fault in the crash.

Person pulled from 2nd fire in 2 days at structure on S Congress Ave

AUSTIN, TX – An abandoned building in South Austin caught on fire this evening for the second time in two days, leading to one person being seriously injured.

According to KXAN and the Austin Fire Department, the incident occurred at 8530 S Congress Avenue at about 5:40 p.m.

One person was pulled from the fire, then taken to the hospital with possibly serious wounds. Their identity was not immediately released.

Authorities have not yet released the cause of the fire.

At about 8:15 p.m. Thursday, AFD responded to a trash fire at the same building. Luckily, nobody was hurt as a result of that incident.

People experiencing homelessness may be staying inside the structure, according to authorities.
