DWI collision causes serious injuries to Austin police officer

AUSTIN, TX- A drunk driving crash occurred early Monday that injured an Austin police officer and two others, according to KXAN.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:15am. The officer, in a patrol car, was in the area of Trinity Street and East 15th Street when his vehicle struck another car with a driver and one passenger in the vehicle. The officer was seriously injured and subsequently transported to an area hospital. The two others involved in the accident were also injured and taken to the hospital for injuries. The driver of the vehicle faces DWI charges.

Intoxicated woman hits several cars driving home

AUSTIN, TX – A woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated on her way home from Givens Park on Sunday, Fox 7 Austin reports.

Sabrina Richardson, 42, was driving with a bottle of liquor on her lap, according to witnesses.

Police say Richardson struck several vehicles on  Springdale Road at approximately 6 p.m.

The first vehicle was struck at the intersection of Springdale Road and Heflin Lane. Richardson hit three other vehicles without stopping.

Two of the vehicles she struck had children passengers.

Richardson was arrested at her home. Officers immediately noticed her red eyes and slurred speech.
