UPDATE: Officials release names of 2 killed in East Austin crash

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have identified the two adults killed in a single-vehicle crash on US 290 last Friday that also injured a child, KXAN reports.

This is an update of an earlier post.

24-year-old Travyh Lamont was driving on US 290 near Cameron Road at about 6 a.m. on July 3 when he lost control of his 2007 Honda Pilot, hit a guardrail, and crashed into a concrete pillar. Avery and 22-year-old Olivia Sanders were pronounced dead at the scene while a child was air lifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The child is expected to live.

The crash was Austin’s 41st fatal traffic accident of the year, and accounted for its 42nd and 43rd vehicular deaths.

UPDATE: Name of woman killed in June 25 crash on Lamar released

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities have released the name of the woman killed in an accident on North Lamar Boulevard on June 25, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

29-year-old Shelby Bean lost control of her white Subaru Forester while driving in the 2600 block of North Lamar Boulevard, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole. Police responded to multiple emergency calls around 7:13 p.m., and arrived on the scene to find Bean’s boyfriend attempting to help her. Bean was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 7:46 p.m.

Police investigations are ongoing. Bean’s death was the 40th traffic fatality reported in Austin this year.

23-year-old victim of June 21 crash ID’ed

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in a June 21 car crash on Jamestown Drive, according to a report by KXAN.

This is an update to a previous story.

The victim is 23-year-old Marcos Calderon, who died Sunday while riding as a passenger inside a green 2002 Chevrolet.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, near the intersection of Jamestown Drive and the Research Boulevard service road, in the 8100 block of Jamestown Drive.

The Chevrolet collided with a silver 1998 Honda after the Honda crossed into the middle lane and into the other vehicle’s path. After the collision, the Chevrolet then hit a bridge support, killing Calderon and injuring three others in the vehicle. The three were sent to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

One dead, three hurt in two-vehicle crash in N Austin

AUSTIN, TX – One person died, and three others were injured tonight in a two-vehicle accident in North Austin.

The official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS reports that the accident happened just after 6:22 p.m. at the intersection of Jamestown Drive and the Research Boulevard service road.

The unnamed victim was pronounced dead around 6:50 p.m. at the scene of the accident.

The other three victims received minor injuries during the crash. There is no word at this time as to if they were transported to the hospital.

ATCEMS advised travelers to avoid the area in question, as traffic delays were likely.
