Two people hurt in rush hour head-on collision in S Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Two drivers were hurt in a head-on car accident in south Austin on Tuesday afternoon, according to a crash report published by MyAccident.org.

The accident happened in the 8500 block of S Congress Ave, near the Parkridge Gardens area, just before 5 p.m. when the driver of a gray 2018 Ford, a 24-year-old man from Cleburne, failed to yield while making a left turn. The front of the Ford collided with the front-right of a red 2014 Chrysler driven by a 23-year-old man from Kyle.

In the accident, the driver of the Ford suffered what authorities suspect was a serious injury, while the other driver sustained non-critical wounds.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Both men were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Four injured in head-on crash on N Capital of TX Hwy

AUSTIN, TX – Four people were injured in a head-on crash tonight on North Capital of Texas Highway, according to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The reported head-on collision happened at 9:09 p.m. at the intersection of N Capital of Texas Hwy and Westlake Drive.

Three adults were taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries that ATCEMS said were not expected to be life-threatening. Another adult was taken to the hospital for non-critical injuries, as well.

There is no information available at this time regarding the identities of the victims or the circumstances of the crash.

ATCEMS warned travelers to expect traffic delays in the area and to be aware of the presence of first responders.
