One seriously injured in rollover auto vs pedestrian crash on Research Blvd

AUSTIN, TX – One person was severely injured in a collision that struck a pedestrian in north Austin this morning, according to a tweet posted by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash happened at the intersection of Research Blvd and W Braker Ln at about 9:15 a.m. when a vehicle overturned and collided with a pedestrian.

At least one person was declared a trauma alert and suffered serious and possibly life-threatening injuries in the collision. The victim, who was not publicly identified in the tweet, was taken to Dell Seton for treatment.

No other injuries were reported by ATCEMS.

One dead after fire consumes vehicle near Austin-Bergstrom Airport

AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed in a fire that completely consumed a car near Austin-Bergstrom Airport late last night, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

 

The accident happened at the intersection of Burleson Rd and S US-183, west of the airport, just after 10 p.m.

Austin Police and Fire officials discovered one person dead at the scene, where a vehicle was discovered completely engulfed in a car fire.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Authorities warned travelers in the area of heavy traffic delays and road closures as investigators worked on the case.

1 child, 3 adults injured in rollover crash on Thunderbird Rd in W Austin

AUSTIN, TX – A child and three adults were taken to the hospital following a rollover accident in west Austin this afternoon, according to a tweet posted by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 8800 block of Thunderbird Rd near Hwy 290 just after 4:45 p.m. when at least one vehicle rolled over an unspecified number of times.

One person, who was possibly ejected from the vehicle, was taken to St. David’s South for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.

Two other adults were taken to the same hospital with injuries that were considered to be potentially serious.

Additionally, a child was taken to Dell Children’s with non-critical wounds.

Authorities did not release the identities of the victims or the cause of the crash.

Round Rock rollover crash causes traffic delays on I-35

ROUND ROCK, TX – A rollover accident on northbound I-35 in Round Rock this morning led to traffic delays of about 50 minutes, according to a tweet by the Round Rock Police Department.

The crash occurred on I-35 near Round Rock Ave at 11:25 a.m. when at least one vehicle rolled over an unspecified number of times.

Authorities shut down all but one lane of the interstate until 12:15 p.m.

Two people hurt in pin-in crash on US-183 in SE Austin

AUSTIN, TX – A pin-in collision in southeast Austin early this morning resulted in two people being injured, with one of them suffering life-threatening wounds, according to a tweet published by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 5600 block of S US-183, near Annalise Dr, at 2:19 a.m. when two vehicles collided, pinning one person in the wreckage.

The person who was pinned was rescued about 25 minutes later and was taken to St. David’s South for the treatment of injuries deemed to be possibly serious.

The other victim was also transported to St. David’s with life-threatening, critical injuries.

Woman collides with vehicle carrying 3 children, injures driver in alleged E Austin DUI

AUSTIN, TX – A woman suspected of speeding, of driving while intoxicated, and of driving without a license collided with another vehicle in east Austin on Tuesday night, leading to the possible injury of the other driver, according to an accident report published by MyAccident.org.

The accident happened at 9166 FM-969, located near the KIPP Academy of Arts and Letters and Bantom Woods Bend just before 9:45 p.m.

The driver of a red 2001 Volkswagen, a 32-year-old Austin woman, allegedly was driving at a high rate of speed while intoxicated and failed to maintain a single lane. She collided with a silver 2005 Honda driven by a 31-year-old woman from Smithville, and which was also transporting a 32-year-old man and three children aged 6 to 10.

The driver of the Honda received possible injuries of undisclosed severity.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The Volkswagen’s driver, who reportedly was driving without a valid license, was found to be at fault.

One person killed in pedestrian crash on Burnet Rd in N Austin

Boy injured after driver falls asleep at wheel, causing SW San Antonio crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A boy was taken to the hospital after a collision that involved a driver falling asleep and allegedly intoxicated driving in southwest San Antonio early this morning.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the accident happened near the intersection of Merry Oaks and Stonybrook Drives just before 4 a.m. after the driver of an SUV fell asleep at the wheel.

The driver then collided with a truck, in which a driver was allegedly intoxicated while his son was riding in the vehicle with him.

The son was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, one of which was a head wound.

The identities of the drivers and the child have not been released at this time.

The truck driver has been charged with DUI with a child in the car, according to the report.
