AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, a pedestrian was hit and killed in northwest Austin Wednesday afternoon.

The adult pedestrian was struck in the 7900 block of Parmer Lane around 4:40 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene.

TxDot said Parmer Lane was closed west of SH 130 and delays were expected.

Swimmer hospitalized after being struck by boat

AUSTIN, TX – According to the Austin American-Statesman, an adult individual has been hospitalized after being hit by a boat near Mansfield Dam Park while swimming on Wednesday morning.

Emergency paramedics responded to the scene at 4370 Mansfield Dam Road, near Lake Travis, at 9:49 a.m.

The victim was transported to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

The incident is still being investigated.

Update: Authorities identify man hit on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – The man who was hit and killed while walking on Interstate 35 on May 15 has been identified by Austin Police, KXAN reports .

Dawon Jermaine Davis, 31, was walking southbound between the Yager Lane and Braker Lane exits when he attempted to cross from the median to the west side of the highway.

A 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis driving southbound in the middle lane struck Davis at approximately 2:35 a.m.

The driver of the Mercury exited the highway and waited for police at the nearest gas station.

APD confirms that impairment, weather conditions, or road conditions play a factor in the incident at this time.

Lawsuit against negligent APD officer that lead a fatal crash

AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, The City of Austin and an Austin Police Department officer are being sued after a traffic stop pursuit resulted in a fatal crash in September 2019.

A high speed chase occurred when an officer attempted to pull over a truck, but the driver refused to stop.

During the chase, the driver of the truck died when they ran a red light and hit another vehicle at East Parmer Lane and Dessau Road intersection. The lawsuit was filed by the occupants of  the vehicle the truck hit.

Sunju Hong’s attorneys claim that Officer Richard Bozelli did not follow the department policy and should not have attempted the dangerous pursuit.

Bozelli was suspended for 10 days for failing to properly stop the chase in March.

Pedestrian fatally struck on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on I-35 in North Austin early Friday morning, Fox 7 Austin reports.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Parmer Lane.

Austin EMS personnel found the man on the side of the road and attempted to save him, but were unable to. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fatal multiple-vehicle accident

HAYS COUNTY, TX – According to KXAN, a fatal multiple-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 290 near Henley Loop on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office says a report of a multiple vehicle collision came in at 1:20 p.m.

Highway 290 was temporarily closed at Henley Loop.

The victims have not been identified.

Pedestrian killed on Austin airport runway identified

AUSTIN, TX – A man that was struck and killed by an airplane while it was landing on ABIA runway of Austin Bergstrom International Airport last week on Thursday night has been identified, KXAN reports.

Authorities say that the victim was 22-year-old Junin Ko who pronounced dead at 8:41 p.m. at the scene.

KXAN had previously reported that the Southwest Flight 1392 crew had reported seeing an individual on the runway as they were landing at 8:12 p.m. to the air traffic control tower.

Ko was not an airport employee and it remains unclear how he got on the runway.

Large truck burst into flames

AUSTIN, TX – KXAN reported a truck that burst into flames the morning of May 11 in southeast Austin.

The Austin Fire department responded to the location of the fire on the 7600 block of Bluff Springs Road with support from TCSO.

A KXAN witness, Brian McKinney, sent in a video of the truck near a gas station where you can see large plumes of smoke as firefighters are extinguishing the fire.

Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run

AUSTIN, TX – According to KXAN, a male pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early Monday morning, May 11 on East Rundberg Lane located in north Austin.

The hit-and-run occurred around 12:50 p.m. east of I-35 road, according to Austin police.

Police closed all lanes on Rundberg road after the accident, including the eastbound and westbound of Interstate 35.

The vehicle and driver that fled have not been identified.

Woman involved in fatal crash identified

AUSTIN, TX – A 29-year-old woman that was killed in a car accident in northwest Austin on May 6 has been identified, according to KXAN.

The victim, Mary Casey from Round Rock, was in the passengers seat in a 2015 Honda Fit on Spicewood Springs Road.

DPS confirmed that the vehicle was traveling at about 35 mph when it left the road and collided against a tree at about 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

The male driver was taken to St. David’ Hospital in Round Rock to treat injuries.
