Victim identified in fatal Research Blvd. crash

AUSTIN, TX –  Investigators with the Austin Police Department have identified the man killed in a north Austin crash earlier this month.

According to KXAN, the incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. within the 9100 block of Research Boulevard on September 15th.

Police say a 2016 Ford Escape driven by 38-year-old Austin Boggus left the roadway and crossed the median before crashing into a concrete sign. Boggus was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries three days later.

An investigation into what may have caused Boggus to lose control of his vehicle remains underway.

UPDATE: Police identify teens killed in North Austin crash

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities with the Austin Police Department have identified two teens who died in a previously reported North Austin crash after running a traffic light in a stolen vehicle last Friday morning.

According to KXAN, Julian Murillo, 15, and Gabrial Marmolejo, 16 were driving a stolen Nissan Versa through the intersection of Cameron Road and East Anderson Lane. The two teens ran a red light and collided with another vehicle crossing the intersection.

One occupant in the Nissan was ejected from the vehicle. Both died at the scene of the crash shortly after. The driver in the vehicle that was crossing the intersection legally was taken to the hosptial to be treated for minor injures.

Austin Police say the investigation into this crash is still underway.

Multiple fatalities in North Austin crash

AUSTIN, TX – Emergency Services in North Austin responded to a fatal collision near Anderson Lane early Friday morning.

According to KXAN, the collision occurred at the intersection of Cameron Road and East Anderson Lane around 3:30 a.m. The cause of the incident was due to one of the vehicles running a red light and colliding into the other at a high rate of speed.

Paramedics declared two patients deceased at the scene of the crash. One other was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Police are still investigating which vehicle ran the light. We will continue to monitor this ongoing situation and provide further information as it becomes available.

Car crashes into North Austin home following a gunfight

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin responded to reports of a vehicle crashing into a house along a residential Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred near 1200 Bonnie Brae Street at around 3:30 p.m. The crash resulted from two occupants inside a vehicle engaging in a gunfight and losing control of the car, according to Fox 7 Austin. The suspect driving the car was pronounced dead upon paramedics arrived at the scene. The passenger inside the vehicle was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police have not made any arrests connected to the crash as of yet. Luckily no one inside the home was injured at the time of the crash.

Two killed, child injured in crash on US-290

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – Austin-Travis County Emergency Services have reported that two adults were killed and one child was seriously injured after a freeway crash Friday morning.

The incident occurred at the 2900 block of US Highway 290 at Cameron Road around 5:48 a.m. According to KVUE, Two adult victims were pronounced dead upon paramedics’ arrival at the scene. A child was extricated from the vehicle and transported via airlift to Dell Seton Medical center with serious injuries.

Details regarding what caused the crash has not yet been made available. Authorities are advising drivers to avoid US 290 at Cameron Rd. while the crash can be further investigated.

AUSTIN, TX – Police in North Austin have reported the death of the victim in an earlier reported crash on North Lamar Boulevard Thursday.

The vehicle involved in the crash rollover within the 2600 block of North Lamar Blvd. at around 7 p.m. The occupant was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center and died shortly after their arrival, according to KXAN.

22-year-old victim in truck accident identified

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have confirmed the identity of a the victim in a fatal truck crash north of downtown Austin Monday.

According to CBS Austin, Eber Misael Castillo Ortiz, 22, was left severely injured after a truck in which he was a passenger collided with a stone mailbox in the 500 block of East Grady Drive. The driver of the truck fled on foot, leaving Ortiz at the scene.

Ortiz was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics began performing life-saving measures on him.

Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver involved in the accident.

AUSTIN, TX – Officials are reporting one fatality as the result of a crash near Interstate 35, north of downtown Austin.

According to the Austin-Travis County EMS Twitter page, the collision occurred just before 7:30 p.m. Monday evening along the 500 block of East Grady Drive. One adult victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
