Wrong-way driver killed in four-vehicle collision

HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way driver was killed following a four-vehicle accident on Wednesday night, according to ABC 13.

The crash happened around 7:50 p.m. between Mason Road and the Grand Parkway.

A silver Acura TL was driving the wrong-way on the feeder road when it hit a Kia SUV, causing an Acura TSX and a Toyota Yaris to crash into the silver Acura and Kia.

The driver of the Acura was killed as a result while the driver of Acura TSX was rushed to the hospital to treat injuries.

It is unclear why the driver was driving eastbound on westbound lanes.

There were no other occupants in any of the vehicles besides the drivers.

Authorities have not identified the individuals involved.

Pedestrian fatally struck after improperly crossing road

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Friday night, according to reports.

Police officers responded to a pedestrian accident on Wesheimer Road and Old Farm Road at approximately 9:40 p.m.

A man crossed the road without using the crosswalk in a poorly lit area when he was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities conducted an evaluation for impairment on the driver and they do not believe the driver was impaired at the time of the accident.

There is an ongoing investigation.

Intoxicated driver sends 4 people to hospital

HOUSTON, TX – A 7-year-old boy has suffered severe head injuries and is now in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident involving a drunk driver, KHOU reports.

The accident happened on Sunday night at approximately 9:25 p.m. in the 7800 block of Highway 6 at Pavilion Point.

Eighteen-year-old Kevin Lozano was driving a Nissan Altima when he failed to yield the right of away and turned in front of a Honda Accord occupied by two people.

Lozano attempted to run away from the scene, but was later brought back by witnesses.

Two other individuals were in the car with him, a 27-year-old female who was in the passenger seat and her 7-year-old son who was unrestrained in the back seat, according to police. Both of them had to be transported to the hospital by Life Flight.

The other two individuals in the Honda Accord were taken to the hospital by ambulance with injured limbs.

Lozano was uninjured and charged with four counts of failure to stop, render aid, and another four counts of intoxication assault.

Authorities are investigating where Lozano was drinking before the accident and who facilitated the help of him becoming intoxicated so they too can face charges.

Car flies off highway due to speed racers

HOUSTON, TX – According to ABC 13, a pick up truck with a baby inside flew off the North Freeway on Thursday night due to speed racers.

The accident happened at around 10:20 p.m. when vehicles were trying to avoid the speed racers that were recklessly driving through traffic.

A pickup truck occupied by a woman, a man, and a baby flew off and fell 15 feet off the freeway onto the feeder road.

Another car caught on fire after it read-ended the pickup truck.

The man and baby inside the truck were not injured, but the woman is in the hospital.

Pedestrian struck and killed on 59

HOUSTON, TX – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while trying to cross the Southwest Freeway after his car broke down on Wednesday morning, sources report.

The victim was on the inside shoulder of U.S. 59 near Fondren Road at approximately 10:40 a.m. when he attempted to run across the highway after his car stalled out.

Police said he was hit by a driver in a Cadillac, who was unable to maneuver around the man.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead.

It is unclear why the man was running across the highway. police believe he might have been trying to avoid being towed away.

Houston cop injured in accident

HOUSTON, TX – A Houston police officer was injured in a rear-end crash on Wednesday afternoon, sources report.

The officer was rear-ended by a vehicle near downtown while he was traveling northbound on the Texas Highway 288 at approximately 1 p.m.

Firefighters and EMS arrived at the scene assisting the officer out of the SUV cruiser and transported him to the hospital wearing a neck brace.

Suspected drunk driver crashes into home

HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, a suspected drunk driver crashed into the garage of a Houston home on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the incident happened on Birchaven Lane and Westknoll Lane shortly after 3 a.m.

Motorcyclist killed after attempting to flee from police

HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a SUV while fleeing from Houston police on Tuesday, My San Antonio reports.

Authorities saw the biker on a stolen motorcycle and attempted to pull him over. The driver refused and sped off leading to a short pursuit along FM 1960.

The biker ran a red light at 100 mph and crashed into a 72-year-old woman driving an SUV at an intersection near Jones Road.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman driving the SUV suffered minor injuries.

Since the man was being chased police when the accident occurred, homicide detectives are investigating the incident.

Woman severely injured after crash with 18-wheeler

HOUSTON, TX – There was an intense crash involving a sedan and 18-wheeler early Saturday morning on S Sam Houston Parkway East, according to Click 2 Houston.

A woman driving a sedan missed her exit near Culled Boulevard and went under an H-E-B 18-wheeler, causing an accident at around 3:57 a.m.

When coming to a stop, the trailer dragged the woman’s sedan about 20 feet due to the slick roads.

The 18-wheeler driver called 911 to assist the woman’s injuries.

The woman, who is in her mid 40’s, was transported unconscious to Ben Taub Hospital and reportedly lost her left eye and left arm.

Rodeo cowboy killed in multiple-vehicle accident

LAKE SOMERVILLE, TX – According to ABC 13, a popular rodeo cowboy from Houston was killed in a multiple-vehicle accident near Somerville last Saturday.

Justin Richard, 37, was one of the four victims killed in the crash.

Authorities say that Ignacio Aviles, 37, was driving south in his F-250 on LBJ Drive when he went off the right side of the road, hit the guardrail, and caromed into the northbound lanes.

Aviles struck a 2001 Chevy Suburban that was occupied by Richard, 18-year-old Chase Sowders, 18-year-old Jasmine Maxwell, and 6-year-old Payton Francis at around 11:05 p.m. All four people died in the accident.

Aviles suffered life threatening injuries and was airlifted to CHI St. Joseph Health in Bryan.

DPS said investigators are still determining whether speed or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
