AUSTIN, TX – Authorities in South Austin have reported injuries resulting from a collision along U.S. Highway 290 Friday evening.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the incident occurred within the eastbound lanes of the 4800 block of U.S. 290 at about 6:38 p.m.

Information regarding the number of vehicles involved in the crash or the extent of the injuries sustained has yet to be released. However, at least one of the eastbound lanes on the freeway has been shut down while the crash is investigated.

Rush-hour collision blocks lanes on Research Blvd.

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin were forced to shut down at least one lane on Research Boulevard following a rush-hour crash Thursday evening.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the crash occurred just east of the intersection with Research Blvd. and Pond Springs Road just off of Highway 183 at about 6:22 p.m.

Details regarding how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if any injuries were sustained as a result have yet to be released. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area throughout Thursday evening so the crash may be investigated and cleared from the roadway.

North Austin crash closes Mopac Expressway on-ramp

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin were forced to shut down a Mopac Expressway on-ramp for several hours following a collision Monday morning.

According to the Austin – Travis County traffic report page, the incident happened shortly before 12:00 p.m. along the Expressway southbound on-ramp from Farm to Market Road 2222.

However, the on-ramp was shut down for several hours and officials are advising motorists to proceed with extreme caution through the area as of Monday night.

One dead after attempting to cross North Austin Interstate

AUSTIN, TX -Emergency Services reported one person dead after being hit by a car along Interstate 35 in the early morning hours of Friday, July 10th.

The incident happened on the 11800 block of I-35 at about 4:30 a.m. The pedestrian, an unidentified male, was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when he was struck by a driver in a Hyundai Elantra, according to Fox 7 Austin.

Upon their arrival at the scene, paramedics performed life-saving measures that were deemed unsuccessful after a short amount of time.

The identity of the victim has not yet been uncovered. Charges are not expected to be filed against the driver involved in the crash.

Accident closes lane on Capital of Texas Highway

AUSTIN, TX – North Austin officials are reporting delays as the result of a rush-hour accident northwest of downtown Austin.

According to KXAN, the incident was reported shortly after 4:00 p.m. along the Capital of Texas Highway near Great Hills Trail. Officials have shut down a portion of the southbound lanes on the highway as a result of the crash.

Information regarding how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what may have caused it to happen has not yet been made available by North Austin Police. However, authorities are urging motorists to find an alternate route as delays are likely while the wreckage can be cleared from the road.

Pedestrian killed in North Austin accident

AUSTIN, TX – One adult pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle along Interstate 35 early Friday morning.

North Austin Paramedics responded to a report of a person being hit along the 11800 block of Interstate 35 southbound just after 4:30 a.m., according to the Austin American Statesman.

Medics attempted life-saving measures on the victim but were unsuccessful. The investigation closed all southbound lanes on I-35 near Breaker Lane for a few hours Friday morning, the lanes have since been reopened.

Collision reported near North Austin school

AUSTIN, TX – Emergency Services in North Austin responded to a reported collision in a residential area near McNeil High School Friday afternoon.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the accident occurred just before 3:00 p.m. near the intersection of Maverick Way and McNeil Drive.

The school is closed for the summer and no injuries have been reported as a result of the crash. Although, police are advising motorists to avoid McNeil Dr. while the accident is cleared from the roadway.

Four people, including children injured in North Austin crash

AUSTIN, TX – Two children and two adults were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident in North Austin late Thursday morning.

The crash happened within the 2600 block of the US Highway 290 frontage road. Upon arrival at the scene, officials noticed 5 individuals involved, one pinned inside of their vehicle, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

Upon extracting the victim from their car, four victims were transported to a Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Late night crash closes I-35 service road

AUSTIN, TX – Police in North Austin were forced to close an Interstate 35 frontage road following a crash Wednesday night.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the accident happened at about 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of East Rundberg Lane and I-35 southbound. Police closed off the intersection as well as a portion of the I-35 frontage road advising drivers to avoid the area throughout Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
