Driver pulled from vehicle after San Antonio tractor-trailer crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Fire Department rescued a driver using the jaws of life following a collision involving an 18-wheeler Monday night.

According to KSAT, the incident occurred within the 10900 block of Applewhite Road, near Palo Alto Road and Loop 410. Police believe the driver crossed the center line and hit the 18-wheeler in the oncoming lane.

The unidentified driver was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

An investigation into what may have caused the driver to veer into oncoming traffic is underway. We will provide any pertinent updates regarding this incident as they are made available.

Rolled 18-wheeler causes lane closures on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Authorities in San Antonio shut down the northbound lanes of I-35 following an early morning 18-wheeler accident Wednesday.

According to Fox San Antonio, the incident happened on I-35 near Nogalitos Street sometime before 5:00 a.m. Police say the truck driver lost control of the rig due to a steering issue causing it to strike a wall and tip over onto its side along the freeway.

Paramedics treated the driver at the scene for minor injures. The northbound lanes along this portion of I-35 were closed down for a few hours. They have since been reopened.

San Antonio police identify victim in fatal shooting, crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials have released the identity of a man who was found fatally shot in an overturned 18-wheeler near Interstate 35 Tuesday night.

According to Fox San Antonio, Daniel Sieger, 45, was found dead inside of his 18-wheeler, which had overturned on Austin Street just east of I-35.

Police say Sieger was killed prior to the truck tipping over. They believe he was shot by a suspect who was fleeing the scene of another murder. Sacramento Martinez, 32, allegedly shot Sieger at a truck stop before stealing his truck and crashing it a few miles down the road.

Martinez is facing a number of charges following the incident, including capital murder.

San Antonio Police arrest suspect who fled the scene of a fatal 18-wheeler crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Police Department have the man in custody who they believe fled the scene of a fatal 18-wheeler crash near Interstate 35 early Tuesday morning.

According to My San Antonio, police responded to reports of a truck driving erratically along Austin Street at bout 3:15 p.m. The witness continued to follow the track until they discovered it had flipped on its side a few blocks away.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officials found a 45-year-old male occupant dead in the cab of the truck. Officials spotted 32-year-old Sacramento Martinez attempting to run away from the crash.

Martinez, who had an active felony warrant out of Austin, was arrested and booked in connection to the crash as well as other crimes.

Semi-truck crash shuts down portion of I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Police Department shut down a busy section of Interstate 35 following a collision involving a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon.

According to My San Antonio, the crash occurred along I-35 close to West Theo Avenue sometime before 4:30 p.m. The truck reportedly caught fire as a result of the accident.

Details regarding what caused the crash to occur have yet to be released. However, all traffic in both the north and southbound lanes was diverted for a number of hours so the wreckage could be safely cleared from the roadway.

Pedestrian critically injured in San Antonio trucking accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by an 18-wheeler semi-truck while attempting to cross a busy San Antonio highway Thursday.

According to KENS, the incident occurred early in the morning along the northbound lanes Northwest Loop 410 near the Alamo Downs Parkway.

Police say the pedestrian was transported to University Hosptial after sustaining serious injures in the crash. The driver remained on the scene to render assistance to the victim. No charges are expected to be filed at this time.

Motorist collides with semi-truck on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police responded to an incident involving an automobile and a semi on Interstate 35 south of downtown San Antonio late Sunday night.

According to KENS, the incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on I-35, just south of its intersection with U.S. Highway 90. Police say the driver of an automobile rolled the car after colliding with the rear end of a semi along the freeway.

Neither of the drivers involved in the collision was injured as a result of the crash. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.

Driver hospitalized after 18-wheeler crash on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One individual was transported to the hospital after their semi-truck drove off of a bridge along Interstate 35 Wednesday night.

According to KENS, the driver lost control of the truck and crashed into a guard rail before careening off of a bridge and into a dried-up creekbed just north of the Shepard Road exit at about 11:00 p.m.

The driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is expected to recover. However, the truck sustained significant damage and threw its contents, aluminum cans, across the freeway.

18-wheeler crash closes lanes on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Emergency Services in San Antonio were forced to shut down southbound lanes along Interstate-35 following a Monday morning semi-truck collision.

The incident happened before 7:00 a.m. Monday along I-35 northeast of downtown San Antonio at Farm to Market Road 1103.

According to News 4 San Antonio, a small car collided with the truck along the freeway. Paramedics transported one patient to a local hospital. No word on their condition or what may have caused the collision has been released. 

The southbound lanes on this portion of I-35 have since reopened.

18-wheeler overturned on San Antonio highway

SAN ANTONIO, TX – San Antonio Police closed down all lanes on Interstate 10 after a semi-truck carrying chemicals overturned early Tuesday morning.

According to KSAT, emergency services responded to the accident on I-10 at Graytown Road at about 7:30 a.m. The chemical the truck was carrying was highly flammable and not soluble in water.

San Antonio Police have not made a statement regarding any injuries sustained in relation to the crash. Officials have since reopened the eastbound lanes on I-10. However, the westbound remains closed as of Tuesday afternoon. Motorists are advised to take another route until the wreckage can be cleared from all lanes.
