AUSTIN, TX – One pedestrian is in critical condition after they were hit by a vehicle on a busy South Austin road Friday morning.
The incident occurred within the 10300 block of Menchaca Road near Slaughter Lane around 5:50 a.m., according to CBS Austin.
The pedestrian was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Medical center for treatment of serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
Details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation. The identities of those involved in the incident are being withheld at this time as well.

AUSTIN, TX – One pedestrian is in the hospital after being struck along a busy South Austin street early Friday morning.
According to a report by the Austin American Stateman, the accident happened within the 700 blocks of East Stassney Lane, a few blocks east of South Congress Avenue.
Police were forced to shut down the eastbound lane of Stassney Ln. for a few hours Friday morning, they have since been reopened. Information on how the pedestrian was struck and their condition as of Friday evening has not yet been made available.
