Driver collides with an off-duty constable in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials in San Antonio responded to a collision involving an off-duty constable and a suspected drunk driver late Wednesday night.

According to KENS, the incident occurred along the Interstate 410 Access Road near the intersection with Texas 151 at around 11:00 p.m. The constable was near a construction site when the female driver drove through the security cones striking the constable’s vehilce.

The woman attempted to drive away but was stopped within the construction site. She was arrested shortly after when police suspected her of being under the influence.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Victim identified in fatal I-35 crash

AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Police Department have identified the teen killed in a single-vehicle collision along Interstate 35 north of downtown on Tuesday, July 28th.

According to the Austin American Statesman, Alejandro Huerta Hernandez, 17, was killed after colliding with a concrete barrier within the 10500 block of the I-35 service road northbound shortly before midnight.

Officers responded last Tuesday at 11:50 p.m. to the 10500 block of the highway’s northbound service road, just south of Braker Lane, for a crash involving one vehicle.

Upon their arrival on the scene, officials pulled Hernandez from the vehicle and began to attempt life-saving measures. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and Hernandez died at the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m.

One dead, one in critical condition after Archeleta Blvd crash

AUSTIN, TX – One person is dead and another has been airlifted to the hospital in grave condition following an accident in southwest Austin, according to the official Twitter account of the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 11900 block of Archeleta Boulevard at 7:53 p.m., according to ATCEMS. One person was trapped in the wreckage for a short time before being extricated by emergency crews. Another victim in the crash was ejected from the vehicle.

One of the victims died at the scene of the accident. Their identity has not been made public.

The other victim was airlifted to Dell Seton for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.

ATCEMS warned motorists to avoid the area and expect traffic delays due to road closures from the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
