Three Parks and Wildlife employees dead, pilot injured in helicopter crash

ALPINE, TX (BREWSTER COUNTY) – Three employees of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department died Saturday after a helicopter crashed in Brewster County, located in West Texas.

According to KXAN, the accident happened while the three men were performing surveys in the Black Cap Wildlife Management Area for desert bighorn sheep.

The three victims, described in a statement by the executive director of TPWD as “highly regarded,” are Bob Dittmar, a veterinarian, Brandon White, an expert on fish and wildlife, and Dewey Stockbridge, a biologist.

The private contractor pilot of the helicopter survived the crash and has been taken to the hospital for the treatment of unspecified injuries. His current condition was not made available.

The exact circumstances that led to the crash have not been made public at this time.

The accident is under investigation by multiple agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration.

Biker injured after reportedly falling off Hwy 183 bridge

One dead in motorcycle accident in NW Austin

AUSTIN, TX – One person died Sunday afternoon in an accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle in northwest Austin, according to the official Austin-Travis County EMS Twitter account.
