Woman allegedly hit truck driver with baseball bat after car crash

AUSTIN, TX – A woman was arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a baseball bat in a road rage-related incident Thursday afternoon, according to KXAN.

The incident happened at 1:15 p.m. in the 11600 block of Farm-to-Market Road 969 when the vehicle of the accused, 49-year-old Connie Trejo, collided with a tow truck.

The male driver of the truck, which was carrying two vehicles, claimed that Trejo approached him while stopped at a red light to scream at him about the collision between their two vehicles.

The truck driver reportedly asked Trejo to continue the conversation while pulled over but claimed that she then produced a baseball bat.

Trejo allegedly struck the truck five times with the bat, causing damage to the driver’s arm and to the vehicle.

Trejo said that she only used the bat to strike the vehicle, and claimed that she did not hit the driver.

She has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has bonded out on an $8,000 bail from the Travis County Jail.
