BUDA, TX – The two men who died in a collision and subsequent fire on Interstate 35 last Friday have been identified by police.
Authorities say the crash occurred when 27-year-old Jose Martin Zamarripa was driving on the wrong side of the interstate near Buda and collided with a pickup truck driven by Brian Tucker, 47. Zamarripa was nearly ejected from his vehicle, and both caught fire immediately following the incident. Emergency responders pronounced the two men dead at the scene.
A woman riding in the passenger seat of Tucker’s truck managed to get out of the vehicle before it caught fire. She was transported to an area hospital, and her condition remains unknown at this time.
