Two people dead after pickup truck and 18-wheeler collide on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – Two people were killed after a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler collided in south Austin last night, according to KXAN.

The accident happened in the 6800 block of southbound S I-35, near William Cannon Drive and Slaughter Lane, at about 8:45 p.m., when a Ford F-150 pickup and a semi-truck collided.

Two occupants of the pickup, who were identified only as adult victims, were killed at the scene.

Icy roadways were reportedly not a factor in the accident.

Authorities closed the southbound lanes of the interstate in the crash area, and traffic was being detoured to Exit 228, to the I-35 frontage road.
