Two people hurt in rush hour head-on collision in S Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Two drivers were hurt in a head-on car accident in south Austin on Tuesday afternoon, according to a crash report published by MyAccident.org.

The accident happened in the 8500 block of S Congress Ave, near the Parkridge Gardens area, just before 5 p.m. when the driver of a gray 2018 Ford, a 24-year-old man from Cleburne, failed to yield while making a left turn. The front of the Ford collided with the front-right of a red 2014 Chrysler driven by a 23-year-old man from Kyle.

In the accident, the driver of the Ford suffered what authorities suspect was a serious injury, while the other driver sustained non-critical wounds.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

Both men were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
