Mid day crash causes traffic jam in South Austin

AUSTIN, TX – South Austin officials reported an accident on West Ben White Boulevard that slowed traffic to a halt Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened between 11:30 am. and 12:00 p.m. near at the intersection of Frontier Trail and West Ben White Blvd. outside of the Ben White Animal Hospital, according to KXAN,

The crash caused a major traffic jam at the intersection while it could be investigated and removed from the road. It has since been cleared and traffic is flowing normally. No information regarding what may have caused it or the condition of those involved has been made available yet.

Collision causes delays on South Lamar Blvd.

AUSTIN, TX – South Austin Police reported at least one lane on South Lamar Boulevard has been closed following a crash Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck happened around 3:30 near the intersection of South Lamar Blvd. and Goodrich Avenue. Information regarding how many vehicles were involved in the crash has not been released yet. The crash scene is still active as of 6:00 p.m., according to KXAN.

No injuries have been reported as of yet. However, Austin Police advises against traveling on this portion of South Lamar Blvd as delays are likely throughout Wednesday evening.

Accident blocks lane on North Austin road

AUSTIN, TX – Officials north of Austin are investigating a crash that closed a lane along West Palmer Lane Wednesday evening.

According to KXAN, the intersection of West Palmer Ln. and Farm to Market Road 620 near Ganzert Lake in North Austin. Officials have this portion of West Palmer Ln. blocked off and are advising motorists to find another route on to FM 620 during Wednesday evening rush hour.

Rush hour crash on freeway ramp near downtown Austin

Austin, TX – Traffic on entry ramp connecting Interstate 35 and Airport Boulevard was at a hault following a crash on the exit ramp Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred on the I-35 northbound ramp towards Airport Blvd. north of downtown Austin around 5:00 p.m., according to KXAN.

Information regarding what may have caused the crash has not yet been released. Police are advising commuters to find an alternate route to Airport Boulevard throughout Wednesday evening rush hour.

Urgent Crash reported off of North Lamar Blvd.

AUSTIN, TX – Police in North Austin have reported an urgent crash in a residential neighborhood off of North Lamar Boulevard late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Austin- Travis County traffic report page, the accident occurred within the 5100 block of Grover Avenue near the intersection with West Northloop Boulevard just before 3:00 p.m.

No word on if any injuries were sustained as a result of the crash has been released as of yet. However, motorists are advised to avoid the area throughout Tuesday evening while officials investigate and clear the incident from the road.

Vehicle fire in erupts in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – Fire officials in New Braunfels responded to a car erupting in flames while parked at a shopping center on Monday.

The fire occurred in the parking lot outside of Spec’s Wines, Spirits, and Finer Foods just off of Interstate 35, according to News 4 San Antonio.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the blaze and New Braunfels Fire Department was able to extinguish it promptly. Details regarding why the vehicle burst into flames have not yet been made available.

18-wheeler overturned on San Antonio highway

SAN ANTONIO, TX – San Antonio Police closed down all lanes on Interstate 10 after a semi-truck carrying chemicals overturned early Tuesday morning.

According to KSAT, emergency services responded to the accident on I-10 at Graytown Road at about 7:30 a.m. The chemical the truck was carrying was highly flammable and not soluble in water.

San Antonio Police have not confirmed or denied any injuries in relation to the crash. Officials have since reopened the eastbound lanes on I-10. However, the westbound remains closed as of Tuesday afternoon. Although motorists are advised to take another route until the wreckage can be cleared from all lanes.

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in downtown Austin reported an accident near busy downtown street adjacent to City Hall during Tuesday morning rush hour.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the accident happened at about 9:00 a.m. along the 100 block of Lavaca Street near the First Street Bridge northbound.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the crash. However, the incident did cause delays in traffic throughout the morning and into early afternoon Tuesday.

Collision reported near Walter E. Long Park

AUSTIN, TX – Austin emergency services are reporting a collision Northeast of downtown early Monday evening, according to the Austin- Travis County traffic report page. 

The accident occurred along Bloor Road at the north end of Walter E. Long park near the intersection with Texas 130 Toll frontage road. Authorities have not released any information regarding the cause of the crash or if any injuries were sustained as a result.

This portion of Bloor Rd. near TX 130 will likely be shut down while the collision is investigated and cleared from the road. Officials are advising motorists to take an alternate route when traveling to and around the park throughout Monday evening.

Suspect arrested in deadly Austin home invasion

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have a male suspect in custody following a Sunday morning home invasion that left one victim dead and another seriously injured.

According to CBS Austin, the altercation occurred within the 2900 block of Pecan Springs Road in Northeast Austin at about 8:00 a.m. Upon their arrival, Austin Police began performing life-saving efforts on one victim who had appeared to sustain a stabbing injury. The victim later died in transport to a local hospital.

The other patient was transported safely to the hospital and underwent surgery for their injuries.

Officials have arrested Raul Luevano, 38, in relation to the incident. Another suspect has been identified and is pending booking as of Monday evening.
