Man struck and killed while trying to cross street in NE San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A pedestrian was killed while attempting to cross a street in northeast San Antonio this evening, according to a report by KSAT.

The collision occurred in the 13400 block of Nacogdoches Road, near Higgins, at about 5 p.m.

The victim, a man attempting to cross the street, was then struck by a van, and then died of injuries sustained during the accident.

Travis County deputy killed in motorcycle crash while returning home from Louisiana

MILANO, TX (MILAM COUNTY)  – An off-duty Travis County deputy was killed in a motorcycle accident while traveling back from Louisiana on Friday night, according to a story by CBS Austin.

The accident happened on westbound US-79 at about 10:15 p.m. when the driver of a 2007 Pontiac G6 sedan, a 17-year-old boy from Cameron, went over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic.

The Pontiac collided with 48-year-old Sr. Deputy Robert (Drew) Small, who was operating a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the time.

Small, who was reportedly off-duty and returning from Louisiana, died at the scene.

The 17-year-old was not immediately reported as injured.

Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety are looking into the accident at this time.
