AUSTIN, TX – Emergency services in North Austin closed off a portion of Research Boulevard following a crash late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page, the incident occurred just before 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Research Boulevard and West Braker Lane.

Details regarding what may have caused the accident to transpire have not yet been released. However, authorities are urging motorists to avoid the intersection as delays are likely throughout rush hour Tuesday evening.

Driver flees after colliding with parked car in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Police Department are looking for the driver responsible for colliding with a parked car early Tuesday morning.

According to News 4 San Antonio, the collision occurred at about 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Ceralvo Street and South Hamilton Avenue.

Police were able to locate the vehicle involved a few blocks from the crash site. However, the driver could not be found.

An investigation into the cause of the crash as well as the identity of the driver involved is underway.

Accident shuts down all lanes on Highway 281

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A major collision forced officials to shut down all the northbound lanes of S.H. 281 Tuesday morning.

According to KSAT, the incident happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. close to Hildebrand Avenue north of downtown.

Details regarding how many vehicles involved in the collision or what may have caused the incident are not available at this time. However, the situation is still under investigation.

The northbound lanes have since been reopened.

Firefighters pull woman trapped after colliding with North Austin retaining wall

AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Fire Department and EMS saved a woman who was trapped in a pickup truck six feet off the ground Monday night.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when the woman drove through a fence and collided with two retaining walls at the Studio 6 motel near I-35, according to KXAN. The truck was wedged between the walls and dangling at a 45-degree angle with the woman inside.

Firefighters worked quickly to secure the vehicle in place using chains. They were able to free the woman and transport her to a local hospital where she was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash. An investigation into what may have caused the accident is underway.

Rush-hour crash causes delays in North Austin

MANOR, TX – Officials in North Austin have reported delays resulting from a rush-hour crash Monday evening.

The collision occurred just after 6:30 p.m. within the 8600 block of East Parmer Lane near the Manor Expressway, according to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page.

San Antonio police search for passenger involved in possible DWI crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Police Department are searching for a second suspect involved in a possible DWI crash north of downtown Sunday morning.

According to KSAT, the incident occurred in the Northbound lanes of U.S. 281 when a driver lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll several times, resting when it struck a concrete divider.

Both the driver and passenger fled on foot before police arrived. The driver was caught shortly after and arrested for DWI. Police are continuing their search for the passenger as of Monday evening.

Driver flees on foot after crashing into San Antonio home

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police in San Antonio are searching for the driver responsible for crashing into a family home and fled the scene on foot Sunday night.

According to KENS, the collision occurred at a home within the 3000 block of East Southcross near the intersection with Meeks Avenue at about 11:30 p.m.

Police are unsure of what may have caused the driver to collide with the home. However, there were several adults and children inside the house at the time of the crash. Luckily, none of them sustained any injuries as a result.

Witnesses at the scene believe they saw a man run away from the wreckage. No other identifying information has been released as of yet.

Woman found dead after South Austin apartment fire

AUSTIN, TX – Officials with the Austin Fire Department discovered a woman had been killed as the result of an apartment fire Monday morning.

According to KVUE, the fire was reported by a neighbor at the apartment complex at 1304 Mariposa Drive at about 8:12 a.m. Police say other neighbors forced their way into the apartment. However, it was too hot and smokey to safely navigate or rescue the occupant.

The fire was extinguished shortly after AFD arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, they discovered the woman had already been dead by that time.

The victim is said to be an elderly woman in her 70s. Her identity is being withheld at this time. Details regarding the cause of the fire remain under investigation.

Person in serious condition after fiery car vs motorcycle crash in S Austin

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a vehicle reportedly caught on fire during a motorcycle crash in south Austin early today, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened in the 3000 block of E Ben White Blvd in the Parker Lane area, just after 12:45 a.m. when a car and a motorcycle collided.

One person was declared a trauma alert, then was taken to South Austin Medical Center with serious injuries thought to be potentially life-threatening.

Authorities did not reveal the circumstances of the crash or the identities of the drivers.

ATCEMS warned travelers in the area to expect traffic delays and road closures as investigators surveyed the scene.

Bicyclist in critical condition after being hit by car in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TX – A bicyclist was sent to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle yesterday in the Jollyville neighborhood, about 4.5 miles southwest of Round Rock.

According to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS, the accident happened in the 7700 block of W Parmer Lane just after 6 p.m. when the driver of a passenger vehicle collided with a bicyclist.

 

EMS administered CPR on the victim, who was then taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as road closures and heavy traffic was expected to last for a while.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
