Woman critically injured in wrong way DUI crash

HOUSTON, TX. – A woman was killed in a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver in the Klein area of Houston on Tuesday morning.

According to KHOU 11, the crash occurred at around midnight at 10201 Spring Cypress Road. A Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says a man in his mid-20’s was driving southbound in the northbound lanes in a Kia when he collided with a woman in a Nissan sedan. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and she was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and might face charges of intoxication assault. These charges could be upgraded if the woman ultimately does not survive. We will continue to monitor this story for any further developments.

Wrong-way driver killed in four-vehicle collision

HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way driver was killed following a four-vehicle accident on Wednesday night, according to ABC 13.

The crash happened around 7:50 p.m. between Mason Road and the Grand Parkway.

A silver Acura TL was driving the wrong-way on the feeder road when it hit a Kia SUV, causing an Acura TSX and a Toyota Yaris to crash into the silver Acura and Kia.

The driver of the Acura was killed as a result while the driver of Acura TSX was rushed to the hospital to treat injuries.

It is unclear why the driver was driving eastbound on westbound lanes.

There were no other occupants in any of the vehicles besides the drivers.

Authorities have not identified the individuals involved.

Woman loses arm in possible street racing accident

HOUSTON, TX – According to KHOU, four people were injured in a possible street racing accident on Sunday.

Houston police have identified two men and two women who were inside a silver Camaro that was possibly struck by another vehicle on the Southwest Freeway. The Camaro drifted off the road due to the impact and smashed into construction equipment on the side of the road.

All four people involved in the accident are expected to live, however one woman lost her arm.

The driver mentioned that they had all just left a bar. Alcohol was also found inside the vehicle.

A witness had reported seeing the Camaro speeding and possibly racing another vehicle.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. A DWI investigation is underway as well.

Five people hospitalized after two-vehicle accident

HOUSTON, TX – Five people have been hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident on Monday, according to KHOU.

The accident happened on Beltway 8 in southwest Houston just before 1 a.m.

According to Houston police, two individuals were trapped in one of the vehicles and firefighters had to extricate them.

All five individuals, including three teenagers were hospitalized. Their injuries are unknown.

Bus traveling from Houston to Mexico crashes, seriously injures one

LIVE OAK COUNTY, TEXAS – KHOU reports that a bus traveling from Houston Mexico was involved in a head-on collision with a passenger vehicle at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident took place on U.S. Highway 59 three miles south of George West.

The bus was traveling south when a Chevrolet sedan traveling north crossed the center line for unknown reasons and struck the bus head-on.

The driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet was transported to a hospital in Corpus Christi by HALO-Flight where he was listed in serious condition.

The bus was occupied by 20 people including the driver. One passenger was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Beeville. Other passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries.

Driver crashes into daycare building

HOUSTON, TX – A vehicle crashed into a daycare on Wednesday afternoon in northwest Houston, KHOU reports.

The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. at the 8000 block of Antoine Drive.

Police said the suspect, a man in his early 20’s, stole a car from his aunt and lost control while driving.

Two children and an adult were taken to an area hospital to get checked our, but none of their injuries were life threatening.

The unidentified driver ran away from the scene, but was later taken into custody.

Bicyclist, driver struck and killed during police chase

HOUSTON, TX – Two people have died after a wrong-way driver refused to pull over during a police chase on Monday night, according to Fox San Antonio.

The accident happened along Veterans Memorial at around 9 p.m.

Harris County police officers attempted to pull over a driver for speeding, but the driver swerved into oncoming traffic lanes to avoid them.

The driver struck a bicycle rider and then crashed into an oncoming Buick.

The driver of the Buick and bicyclist were taken to a nearby hospital, where they both died.

The suspect faces two counts of felony murder for causing the accident.

Deadly 18-wheeler accident kills one

HOUSTON, TX – Houston authorities say Tuesday morning’s rain contributed to the deadly car accident involving an 18-wheeler along North Loop East.

The victim, Donald Carter, 43, was in a silver Honda Accord when he exited the highway heading for Homestead Road.

Carter lost control of his vehicle and rear-ended an 18-wheeler that was parked on the shoulder.

Paramedics pronounced Carter dead at the scene.

The driver of the 18-wheeler did not suffer any injuries.

Car crashes into hotel, killing two

HOUSTON, TX – According to sources, two people were killed after a car crashed into a hotel on Monday morning.

The car went off the road and crashed into the Super 8 Motel in northern Harris County near the North Freeway at around 1:45 a.m.

Investigators concluded that the vehicle flipped over on its side before slamming into the building.

It is unclear whether the two victims were staying at the hotel or in the car. The motel manager said both were in the sedan.

None of the employees in the hotel were injured, although a receptionist was at the front desk when the incident occurred.

The motel sprinklers prevented the fire from the accident from spreading.

The building suffered extensive damage.

Intoxicated driver sends 4 people to hospital

HOUSTON, TX – A 7-year-old boy has suffered severe head injuries and is now in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident involving a drunk driver, KHOU reports.

The accident happened on Sunday night at approximately 9:25 p.m. in the 7800 block of Highway 6 at Pavilion Point.

Eighteen-year-old Kevin Lozano was driving a Nissan Altima when he failed to yield the right of away and turned in front of a Honda Accord occupied by two people.

Lozano attempted to run away from the scene, but was later brought back by witnesses.

Two other individuals were in the car with him, a 27-year-old female who was in the passenger seat and her 7-year-old son who was unrestrained in the back seat, according to police. Both of them had to be transported to the hospital by Life Flight.

The other two individuals in the Honda Accord were taken to the hospital by ambulance with injured limbs.

Lozano was uninjured and charged with four counts of failure to stop, render aid, and another four counts of intoxication assault.

Authorities are investigating where Lozano was drinking before the accident and who facilitated the help of him becoming intoxicated so they too can face charges.
