Motorcyclist killed after colliding with minivan in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A motorcyclist from San Antonio is dead after a collision with a minivan on the north side Tuesday.

According to My San Antonio, the incident happened after the motorcyclist was involved in a race with a sports car within the 15100 block of Nacogdoches Road. After a few blocks, the driver of the sports car turned off of the road as the motorcyclist was still traveling at a high rate of speed.

A minivan driver struck the motorcyclist while attempting to switch lanes as he was still speeding along the road. The man was thrown from the bike and died as a result of his injuries.

No charges have been filed against the minivan driver as of Wednesday evening.

Motorcyclist hospitalized following San Antonio crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Emergency services in San Antonio rushed a motorcyclist to the hospital after a high-speed crash early Thursday morning.

According to News 4 San Antonio, the crash occurred along New Laredo Highway near I-35 south at about 12:45 a.m. Police believe the cause of the crash to be due to the motorist traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officials discovered the man had been thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for several injuries, including a serious blow to the head.

Victim identified in San Antonio motorcycle crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – San Antonio Police have released the name of the individual killed in a Sunday night motorcycle crash on the Northeast Side.

According to KSAT, Dorrell Godley, 30, was traveling at a high rate of speed along 4400 block of Old Sequin Road. After colliding with another vehicle, Godley crashed and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Godley was pronounced dead upon paramedics arrival at the scene. No information on the other driver involved in the crash has been released.

San Antonio officer hospitalized after motorcycle accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio police officer was transported to a hospital as a precaution after a minor motorcycle accident Wednesday morning.

The officer lost control of his motorcycle near the Frio exit ramp along Interstate 35 at about 10:00 a.m. According to KENS, the motorcycle slipped on oil that was believed to have leaked from another vehicle on the freeway.

The injured officer was transported to Baptist Hospital with a minor case of road rash and is expected to make a full recovery. The exit ramp was shut down for about an hour following the crash but has since reopened.

Father and son killed in motorcycle accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A father and his 15-year-old son were killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday morning, according to reports.

Authorities confirmed that 36-year-old Reinerio Lopez and his son Franklin Lopez were riding a 2008 Honda motorcycle shortly after midnight near the 2400 block of General Hudnell Drive.

The father lost control while making a turn and hit a concrete wall, causing both riders to be thrown off the bike into a bridge pillar and guard rail.

Both victims were pronounced dead the scene.
